Brendan Benson was ace!

Went to see Brendan Benson at Oran Mor in Glasgow last night and he didn't disappoint. Listened to him loads in Australia and couldn't miss the opportunity to see him. Hadn't listened to his new album in advance but it didn't matter - the whole set was good... and Al enjoyed it too - thank God! Hate the pressure of recommending music to people... but it worked! YAY.

Just a wee gig of a few hundred people I think - well worth the £10 or whatever it was. He didn't sing Insect Rules... but I didn't mind too much - we listened to it back at the flat - so all in all a good night was had! And now I've got his new album... so I'm off to listen to it.

Last festy of the season - here we go Loopallu!

I think I'm fast becoming a festival-a-holic... love it love it love it!

Loopallu is this year's last one... but it was great... Highlights - The Dykeenies, The Dangleberries, Mumford & Sons and the surprise best band... Codeine Velvet Club. Okay, so really the music comes second... the weekend was fab... and only because of the fab company I keep - huge big thanks to Mel, Al and Al... as well as Rhoda, Mairead, Dougie, Dave & Jan, Dave & Jan and Hugh, for making it such fun.

"Nobody puts baby in the corner" - RIP Patrick Swayze

Gonna have to dig out my old videos and DVDs and watch some good old Patrick Swayze movies...

Who am I kidding... it's not like they're at the back of the cupboard... They're always at easy reach!

Sad day for us die hard Dirty Dancing fans! Oh and not forgetting To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everthing! Julie Newmar... brilliant film :o)

Think I'll do a Patrick themed radio show this week.
